Le Marché by NP is celebrating its first summer in Whitefish.

The boutique and coffee shop matches its name — le marché means the market in French — by offering a variety of women’s and children’s clothing, beauty products and gifts at its location on East Second Street.

Jordana Woodland is the owner and creative director for Le Marché. She first launched the retail store in Los Angeles, but made the move to Whitefish opening the market again here last fall while shifting its offerings some to fit with local customers and visitors to Montana.

“We wanted a store that is all encompassing,” Woodland Said. “We wanted a store that would create a full experience where you can have a coffee and cookie while shopping.”

Woodland in 2011 launched lifestyle brand Naked Princess with a focus on creating products that are featured in five-star hotels and spas around the country. The company has expanded beyond its initial lingerie, sleepwear and beauty products to include loungewear, athleisure and “mommy and me” clothing options.

Le Marché was created through the expansion of additional products, and the market in Whitefish also includes products from other brands carefully selected by Woodland.

“I love bringing in things that are giftable — things to give for a special occasion for your mom or your girlfriend,” Woodland said. “People are often wowed by how many different things we have.”

Inside the shop near the entrance, a pink neon sign announces the Boudoir Bar coffee shop offering the opportunity to select a traditional espresso beverage or try fun summer drinks like the blushing glacier made of sweetened red hibiscus and peppermint teas with limes.

Under sparkling chandeliers, a variety of clothing, beauty and home products are displayed. Alongside the lingerie and loungewear, sits small inspiration books and journals, and nearby is jewelry and perfumes.

The idea for the brand, and for the shop, is to include items that a women would have and use in her boudoir as she would get ready for the day or go out for the evening, and as she prepares for bed at night.

“We’re creating an experience,” Woodland says.

In addition, there’s fun books and games for children, along with candy. Unique items also that can be fun for almost age like the sunscreen with glitter. Woodland, a mother of four children, created a “mommy and me” clothing collection that includes women and children sizes for dresses and pajama sets in matching colors and prints.

Women’s clothing includes cashmere robes and casual summer dresses. Many of the clothing items come in pink, gray, black and blue, but there’s also fun prints mixed in.

“What you see with NP is 90 percent of the designs are done in-house,” she said. “The prints you won’t be able to find anywhere else.”

Beauty and body products created under the Naked Princess name include lip glosses and treatments, and moisturizers and fragrance oils and sprays.

Le Marché is located at 214 E. Second St. Suite 103. For more information, visit www.lemarchebynp.com.
