Closure of State Park Road begins

| July 15, 2019 10:20 AM

A portion of State Park Road was closed beginning Monday and will remain closed for about three months for reconstruction of the roadway.

The City of Whitefish is reconstructing the road, which will be closed from Lion Mountain Loop Road to Haugen Heights Road. The section of road is expected to open to the public again in late October.

A signed detour will be posted during this time. The detour will convey traffic around the construction zone utilizing portions of Meadowlark Lane, Stumptown Loop, Haugen Heights Road and Patton Lane. Temporary speed bumps will be installed along the detour and a temporary reduced speed of 15 miles per hour will be posted.

The State Park at Whitefish Lake will remain open to all users and vehicles during the roadway reconstruction project.

Local access to Forest Ridge Drive and Eagle Ridge Circle will be provided through the construction zone via Mountain Park Drive.

Visit the City of Whitefish’s website at http://www.cityofwhitefish.org/public-works/state-park-road-project.php for complete project information.
