Glacier Symphony brings American tunes to Rebecca Farm
What better way to enjoy a beautiful Montana summer evening than with an outdoor picnic concert?
The Glacier Symphony’s annual “Symphony Night at the Farm” concert Friday and Saturday, July 5 and 6, offers the perfect way to celebrate our nation’s birthday with an “American Salute” featuring popular patriotic tunes along with a selection of romantic music by George Gershwin and Aaron Copland.
Set on the rolling lawn at Rebecca Farm in the heart of the Flathead Valley, the concert venue offers plenty of room to spread out your blankets and chairs and enjoy the music while the kids romp to the tunes. Entry is by the carload so load up your car with friends and family, bring a picnic and your favorite beverage.
Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. allowing patrons plenty of time to picnic with their friends before maestro John Zoltek cues up the orchestra at 7:30 p.m.
Bring low-backed lawn furniture and blankets, but no dogs or barbecue grills. The event will be held rain or shine. Large tents are available in case of inclement weather and concert-goers can make it easy by reserving a picnic table, with some available under a tent. Specially selected vendors will offer ice cream, barbecue fare, gourmet foods and popcorn. Wine, beer, sodas and water will also be available for purchase.
Car passes are $50 the day of the concert. Purchase car passes in advance at www.glaciersymphony.org or call the box office, 406-407-7000. Patrons are also invited to take advantage of the new west side bike path system in Kalispell and bike in for $5 per entry.
Rebecca Farm is located at 1010 West Spring Creek Road. Traveling on the Kalispell bypass (U.S. 93 Alternate), take the Four Mile Drive exit and head west. Cross Stillwater Road, continue on Four Mile Drive and turn right onto West Spring Creek Road. Look for the event signs for the event.
