It was two up, two down for the Bulldogs last week, who defeated Eureka and Stevensville to bring their win total to 10.

On Friday the team traveled north to face Eureka, winning 46-35.

Whitefish opened a first-quarter 10-8 lead to 27-17 at the half. The Dogs outscored Eureka 19-18 in the second half to hold the lead.

Mark Anderson led the team with 10 points, while Ryan Kemm added nine. Lee Walburn and Dillon Botner each added eight as well in the win.

Then on Saturday the Dogs headed south to face the Yellowjackets, coming away with a 74-55 win against the Southwest A foe.

Head coach Scott Smith said the Stevi game was the most complete 32 minutes his team has played this season.

“I thought that was the best overall game we’ve played so far this year,” Smith said. “We had five kids in double figures. We moved the ball around well and the kids did a great job of finding who’s open and also taking it themselves when the defense offered it. We were just more aggressive that way.”

This week the Dogs look to continue the win streak. They faced Ronan at home on Tuesday after press time and travel to Corvallis on Friday.

Neither game will be a breeze, Smith said, and the key for wins in either contest will be taking care of the ball and avoiding turnovers.

“Every game could be tough if we don’t show up,” Smith said. “[Ronan is] going to press us again, so we have to take care of the ball, and if we don’t we could be in trouble. At times we haven’t handled the ball as well as we’ve needed to. We’ve got some work to do this week.”
