Carnival honors service with knightings

| January 22, 2019 12:28 PM

We are so lucky to live in the magical realm of Whitefish. It is so rare for a small town to have its own living mythology that gets acted out every year, especially in such a fun way that gives all the people a chance to join in. It’s Whitefish Winter Carnival LX, and Woodstock Whitefish is alive for the 60th year!

With the coronation of Prince Frey, Max Grimes and Princess Freya, Payton Reisinger last Friday, the Royal Court is now complete. We are all so honored to represent the characters of the legend this year, and very much appreciate the Whitefish Pilot’s coverage of all the events leading up to Carnival weekend.

An important role of Carnival is to honor and recognize “especial service to our court” in the form of knighting ceremonies. So far, the following fine folks have been so honored: Kanyon Smith as “Primus Maximus,” Christine Rossi as “Vivacious Venetian Vixen,” Max Grimes as “Self Styled Skipper,” Payton Reisinger as “Superior Sibling of Sincerity,” Anne Mahoney as “Nurturing Matriarch of Royals,” Susan Dickey as “Soulmate Sister to the Queen,” Bret Lindsay as “Noble Neuromancer of the Realm,” Lauren Rossi as “Creative Culinary Crafter,” Kathryn Rossi as “Talented Trendsetting Thespian,” Julie Smith as “Passionate Princess of Peace,” Konnor Smith as “Inquisitive Idol of Intelligence,” Saige Smith as “Sweet Sister Saige,” Kobalt Smith as “Delightful Dubious Dude,” and Patricia Ryan as “Sparkling Queen of Sincerity.”

More Carnival fun to come. You are a wonderful part of it all!
