The local Feat x Feet group this months is celebrating 22 years of dancing and music.

The youth tap ensemble will be performing its annual winter show Jan. 11, 12, and 13 at 8 p.m., 7 p.m. and 4 p.m. respectively, at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish. The show is called “Art in Motion.” The show was named by seniors Gabbi Paulson and Lauren Schulz.

“We chose the title of the show because we enjoy being able to take art outside of a classroom setting and use it in motion,” they said.

Joining us on the stage for their final steps will be seniors: Lauren Schulz, Gabbi Paulson, Aren Alexander and Jade Greenberg. Paulson and Alexander are both graduating seniors from Glacier high School and Schulz and Greenburg are both seniors graduating from Whitefish High school.

Ashley Smith is the owner and artistic director for Feat x Feet. She’s been bringing tap to the Flathead for the past 21 years.

“It’s going to be a fun show,” Smith said. “It’s a really amazing coming together of music and our local students all on one stage. It’s very unique and upbeat.”

Sponsors for the show are Glacier Bank, Potthoff Dentistry, Mann Mortgage, The Village Shop, Montana Estate Keepers and Tupelo Grill.

Also joining the Tap Ensemble on stage will be the tap school kids. The tap school kids will be performing on Saturday and Sunday shows. Friday will feature just the ensemble.
