Police Calls: Bikes seemingly from nowhere
Wednesday, Dec. 4
11:05 a.m. A Highway 93 caller wanted to know who the man a deputy left at her house was.
3:23 p.m. A concerned caller was worried the ice on a lake was not strong enough to hold the people sliding around.
4:40 p.m. Scratches and puncture holes on the caller’s car made her believe it had been hit overnight.
5:18 p.m. A Central Avenue caller heard a crash and screaming upstairs before water began to trickle through the ceiling.
Thursday, Dec. 5
8:07 a.m. A bike was stolen from a Somers Avenue alley way.
8:40 a.m. A car passed a bus with flashing red lights on Pine Avenue.
10:35 a.m. A caller had lost his wallet somewhere between Wisconsin Avenue and Highway 93 South.
4:53 p.m. A woman believed the man behind her took her purse after she dropped it.
8:44 p.m. A couple of suspicious men with beanie hats were sitting in a vehicle near State Park Road.
Friday, Dec. 6
3:03 a.m. A barking dog on Waverly Place was severe enough that the caller claimed either the “owner needs to be arrested or the dog needs to be shot.”
12:21 p.m. Someone stole gas from two trucks on Highway 93.
12:38 p.m. A caller on Colorado Avenue was not sure why there were five mysterious bikes in their barn.
1:24 p.m. The bikes turned out to be the caller’s daughter’s.
Saturday, Dec. 7
9:22 a.m. A mailbox had nearly been ripped off its support on Columbia Avenue.
2:50 p.m. A caller was worried her roommate was about to have a seizure and also had suspicions he was stalking her.
4:49 p.m. Cars were “aggressively” passing on the shoulder of Montana 40.
7:51 p.m. A caller on Central Avenue thought they overheard a bar patron discussing running from the state to avoid murder charges.
9:07 p.m. The man who seemed to be banging and throwing things outside a Second Street house ended up being two bucks fighting.
Sunday, Dec. 8
4:20 p.m. A bike was stolen on Highway 93.
6:10 p.m. A caller felt his briefcase was stolen from his unlocked vehicle. He later found it in his office.
8:32 p.m. A caller found footprints in the snow on their Birch Hill Drive deck.
Monday, Dec. 9
9:39 a.m. A vandal sprayed graffiti on a very nice newspaper box on Second Street.
12:15 p.m. Someone tried cashing $17,000 in counterfeit checks earlier in the month.
1:50 p.m. A stray dog with bite marks on its face was found in a Waverly Place yard.
4:05 p.m. A caller wanted to know if police officers give out free car seats.
Tuesday, Dec. 10
3:08 a.m. A man was threatened after asking a neighbor to stop using a nail gun.
11:29 a.m. Callers along Highway 93 believed they found a stolen candy machine on the side of the road.
2:21 p.m. A caller was concerned with a telephone line hanging above the bike trail at neck level.
3:10 p.m. A transient man on Depot Street was yelling obscenities.
