Auditions for 'Snow White'

| December 3, 2019 1:22 PM

The Whitefish Theatre Co. is holding auditions for a spring production of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” a family production that will be performed in February and March of 2020.

Auditions will take place on Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. and on Dec. 9 at 6 p.m. at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish. Auditions are for adults of all ages and young actors ages 7 and up. The north door at the back of the O’Shaughnessy Center will open at 6:30 p.m. on the Dec. 8 and 5:30 p.m. on the Dec. 9 for those wanting to fill out an audition application early and review the audition selections. Scripts are also available at valley public libraries for preview.

Based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, this classic version of the story begins with the beautiful Snow White serving her stepmother, the evil Queen Brangomar. However, when Snow White and Prince Florimond fall in love at a ball, the evil queen becomes envious of Snow White and goes to great lengths to get rid of her, including conspiring with Witch Hex to make Snow White take a bite of the infamous poison apple.

The cast is composed of actors of all ages. Adults and students ages 7 and up are welcome to audition. No experience is necessary to audition and no preparation is required. Pages from the script will be provided.

Rebecca Spear is the director.

Rehearsals will begin Jan. 13, 2020 and will be held Monday through Friday at the O’Shaughnessy Center from 6 to 9 p.m. There are seven performances on Feb. 27-29, March 1, and March 5-8, 2020.
