Tucker, Schulz named 2019 WLGC Club Champions
Champions Crowned at WLGC
Some familiar faces once again claimed the titles for the WLGC Club Championship in 2019. Shawn Tucker had two great days of golf in winning the Men’s Championship division by a couple shots with scores of 71 on both days. Coral Schulz basically ran away with another Women’s Championship with excellent rounds of 69 on the North Course and 72 on the South. Karen Jacobson won the Ladies Senior division with two excellent rounds in the tournament. Carroll Lilly repeated as the Men’s Senior Division winner for a record nine titles in a row. Dave Streeter captured the Super Senior division (70 plus age group) for the second year in a row. This year’s tournament was once again managed by the excellent Golf Shop staff under the direction of Head Professional Tim Olson. Golf Professionals Christine Newton, Adam Long, Cody Olson and the rest of the staff ran an incredible Tournament from start to finish including an exciting derby won by Coral Schulz and yours truly. Gain some flexibility
As we grow older, (I can relate), we often lose flexibility, which in turn will cause a loss of distance with all our shot. To gain the ability to make a bigger turn with your hips and shoulders, try changing your stance. Flare the toes of your feet outward about 30 degrees. This will allow you to turn more freely and still remain balanced. Keep your knees flexed in order to support a bigger turn that you will experience. Practice this stance before you try in on the course so it begins to feel more natural. You may experience a different ball flight so use the range to determine how the new stance may affect your shot shape. You should get more distance with the larger turn and additional swing speed generated by this move.
