WCU donates to area high schools

| April 16, 2019 2:55 PM

Whitefish Credit Union has donated more than $9,000 to local high schools in northwest Montana as generated by the financial cooperative’s High School Spirit Debit Card initiative.

The program allows members to choose a MasterCard debit card featuring their chosen high school’s color and logo. When a new card is issued, the credit union donates $5 to the school displayed on that card. The financial cooperative is currently partnered with Whitefish High School, along with Bigfork, Columbia Falls, Flathead, Glacier, Lincoln County, Polson and Thompson Falls high schools.

“School spirit is important to many folks in Northwest Montana. Our High School Spirit Debit Card program is a fun way to help our members show their school pride,” said Colleen Murphy, Senior Vice President of Operations for Whitefish Credit Union. “We are proud to continue to support students and educators in the communities we serve.”

The High School Spirit Debit Card program is one of many ways Whitefish Credit Union works to support public education. Members can request a High School Spirit Debit Card anytime at any of Whitefish Credit Union’s local branches. While the initiative runs year-round, the credit union will launch a High School Spirit Debit Card promotion in the fall to help raise much needed funds for the upcoming school year.
