North Course opens this week, South Course set for next

| April 16, 2019 2:51 PM

Course opens today

The Whitefish Lake Golf Course will open for play starting at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 17. All the snow is now finally gone and the course emerged from winter in great condition with greens in fantastic shape. Tee times will be taken starting at 8 a.m. for two days in advance. The opening this week is for the North Course only with the South most likely opening next week.

Parking lot renovation

The entire parking area at the golf course is being renovated starting next Thursday morning. This inconvenience will result in golfers having to enter the facility by turning on Ramsey Drive and following along behind the cemetery to enter next to the maintenance building. The front parking area will be renovated first, taking about five days, and once that is completed the company will move to the back parking lot so traffic can then enter through the front gate. Sorry for the inconvenience but this is the best time for this project to be completed.

New members welcome

Memberships are still available for this year with the current rates remaining in effect until the end of May. If you are a first time member you are eligible for the “early season” discount rate. Please call 862-5960, or go online to www.golfwhitefish.com to complete the membership process.

New fleet of golf carts

Golf Professional Tim Olson has a completely new fleet of 84 new carts ready for our members and guest to enjoy this season. The golf shop also has a great sale going on for your golf apparel and other items. Discounts are huge.

New short game area

Work is progressing on the short game practice area with the new green and adjacent bunker nearly completed. The irrigation system is in place and the new topmix for the green will be in place as early as this week and then sod will be installed. This project will separate the chipping and pitching area from the bunker practice section to create a much safer and user friendly experience. A new cart path will separate the two sections and allow for designated parking for carts.
