Nonprofits selected for Great Fish Challenge

The Whitefish Community Foundation has announced the list of 53 nonprofits that will participate in the 2019 Great Fish Community Challenge. In just the last four years, the challenge has raised more than $7 million for more than 60 charities in Whitefish and surrounding communities. Last year’s challenge included 1,500 donors.

The 2019 participating charities include: Abbie Shelter, Alpine Theatre Project, Backpack Assistance Program, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flathead County, Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation, CASA for Kids, Center for Restorative Youth Justice, Columbia Falls-Whitefish High School Swim Teams, Child Bridge, DREAM Adaptive Recreation, Farm Hands — Nourish the Flathead, Flathead Area Mountain Bikers, Flathead Cancer Aid Services, Flathead Food Bank, Flathead Land Trust, Flathead Rapids Youth Soccer, Flathead Valley Community College Foundation, Flathead Valley Ski Education Foundation, Flathead Youth Home, Friends of the Flathead Avalanche Center, Gateway to Glacier Trail,

Whitefish Community Foundation will launch the Great Fish Community Challenge on Thursday, July 25 with a Launch Party at First Interstate Bank of Whitefish. The community is encouraged to attend, donate to their favorite charities, and give those charities a chance to win instant grants, while enjoying hors d’oeuvres and drinks.

The Whitefish Community Foundation organizes the Great Fish Community Challenge and provides the matching funds to inspire the community to give. The challenge will run seven weeks and culminate with the Great Fish Community Challenge Color Run and Community Celebration on Sept. 7 at Depot Park. Gifts can be made until Sept. 13.
