Art auction event raises funds for Hockaday Museum

| April 9, 2019 10:27 AM

The Hockaday Museum of Art is holding its second annual Artists Give Back silent auction fundraiser at Grouse Mountain Lodge in Whitefish on Saturday, April 13.

The event is from 7-9 p.m. Professional artists from throughout Northwest Montana and beyond will have rare pieces from the artists’ own archives available for purchase through a silent auction with a buy it now option. All the works will be unframed, ranging in size from approximately 5 by 7 inches to 11 by 14 inches.

New this year is the addition of jewelry and other 3-D works including pieces from students of the FVCC Art Program. This event is an opportunity to start a collection of original art or find that one-of-a-kind piece to add to an existing collection. Meet and learn about the amazing artists who are graciously donating 100 percent of the art for the event. All proceeds support the Hockaday’s 50th year of bringing art and culture based programs for all ages to our valley.

There will be a full cash bar, appetizers, and local music by the duo Stick and String. Patrons can purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win a variety of prizes from numerous local businesses.

Tickets available at the Hockaday Museum of Art or at the door on event night. $15 for Museum members; $25 for non-members.

The Hockaday Museum of Art is located in the cultural district of downtown Kalispell at 302 Second Ave East. It is housed in a 1904 Carnegie Library building that appears on the National Register of Historic Places. The Museum is a private nonprofit organization, open year-round, Tuesday through Saturday. The mission of the Hockaday is to enrich the cultural life of our community and region, and preserve the artistic legacy of Montana and Glacier National Park.
