Whitefish Review debuts 'Our Living Planet'

Whitefish Review will release “Our Living Planet” issue No. 23 on Friday, April 5 with a celebration at Casey’s in downtown Whitefish.

The new issue features 40 authors, poets, photographers, and artists, as well as interviews with Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard and National Geographic’s Chris Johns. The cover features work by Scott Musgrove and Matt Flint.

“For this new issue of Whitefish Review, we focused on the body of earth, our relationship to nature in all its glory and decay — our living planet,” said founding editor Brian Schott.

The evening will feature readings by Becky Lomax and Chris Dombrowski.

Lomax is the author of “Moon USA National Parks,” the complete guide to all 59 national parks. A longtime parks expert and former guide, Lomax is passionate about teaching travelers to engage with these natural landscapes sustainably and respectfully.

Dombrowski is the author of “Ragged Anthem,” a poetry collection published this month by Wayne State University Press. His poems have appeared in over a hundred anthologies and journals. His memoir “Body of Water (Milkweed Editions)” was a Bloomberg News Best Book of 2016.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with live music. Readings begin at 7:30 p.m. The Whitefish Community Foundation, Glacier Bank, and Good Medicine Lodge sponsor the evening. A $10 entry donation is suggested to support the non-profit journal.
