Glacier Skate Academy skaters performed well at their first competition of the season recently in Missoula.

“It was a very successful weekend with all skaters winning at least one medal,” said Skating Director Sean Wirtz.

Several first time competitions placed at the competition, including, Harper MacIntyre in first place, Madison Dockery in first place, Gabriel Walrath in first place, Emma Marlow in second place, Elijah Walrath in third place and Kate Freeman in fourth place.

In team competition Glacier Skate Academy took home first, second and third place.

“It was a great effort by our Whitefish Skaters,” Wirtz said.

Other medalists were Muriel Mercer, Shatara Boye, Kalie Jensen, Sophia Elden and Maci Safir.

There was also a standout performance by Glacier Skate Academy’s first ever pair team, Maggie Mercer and Willem Gray, Wirtz noted.

Sophia Burrough won the Intermediate Dramatic Showcase event and also received the Kay Spencer award for captivating the audience.
