Teams from region expected for Pro-Am
Cart Paths to be renovated
The cart paths on holes 10 and 11 of the South Course are nearly 20 years old and in serious need of renovation and that is the plan for this fall. The renovated cart paths will remain in their present location but will be wider and a new layer of asphalt will be added. Cart paths are like streets and need to be maintained the same way.
Fall Pro-Am
The Annual Can-Am Pro-Am is set for this weekend with 28 teams registered to compete. Teams from around the region and of course our friends to the North will compete in the two-day event featuring a Golf Professional and four amateurs on each team. The format for scoring will be one gross score and one net for each hole. Local players will be drawn for the out of town teams so each team will have at least one Whitefish Lake Golf Club member. Play will be on the South Course Saturday and North on Sunday.
Trust your stroke
If you have a putt that is important to complete a good round or win the hole, avoid thinking about the outcome. Do not think, “What if I miss?” as this does nothing to help you in any way. Go through your regular pre-shot routine, determine your intended line, and visualize the ball rolling along the line and going into the hole. Feel free and confident that you are going to make a good stroke and then the results will take care of themselves.
