Harriers compete with top schools

The Whitefish girls showed up to compete at the Flathead Cross Country Invitational on Friday, grabbing third overall in a meet that mixed class A and AA teams.

Whitefish finished behind first-place Flathead and second-place Missoula Sentinel.

In individual performances, Jessica Henson cracked the top five with a fourth place finish (20:45.17).

Ella Greenberg (20:56.94) finished just behind at seventh, while Jade Greenberg (21:52.01) took 18th and Josephine Vardell (22:03.87) 21st.

On the boys side, Miles Vrentas (18:01.49) was the top finisher for Whitefish at 18th.

Jacob Bailey (19:13.41) took 40th, Colter Gaertner (19:16.87) 43rd and Jacob Henson (19:19.28) 44th.

Whitefish as a team finished 11th.

This week the team will compete in the Polson/Ronan Invite on Saturday.

That will start at noon at the Silver Fox Golf Course in Polson.
