One bear goes for stroll, while another breaks into garage

Monday, Oct. 8

9:47 a.m. Denver Street residents guessed that only a bear could’ve knocked over their dumpster.

2:24 p.m. A man was sleeping in the grass on Park Knoll Lane.

4:19 p.m. A bear and her two cubs were strolling down Iowa Avenue.

Tuesday, Oct. 9

9:26 a.m. A caller noticed his daughter’s debit card was being used, but not by her.

4:38 p.m. A deer had its leg caught on a fence on Third Street.

Wednesday, Oct. 10

8:02 a.m. A Baker Avenue resident was worried the speeding drivers nearby could harm wildlife crossing the street.

10:05 a.m. A black bear was trespassing in a garage on Shooting Star Circle.

2:06 p.m. A man became “unglued” after asking to slow down when driving on Highway 93.

Thursday, Oct. 11

9:21 a.m. A transient was “jumping up and down screaming at people” and “acting strangely” on Central Avenue.

9:32 a.m. Protesters outside a Spokane Avenue building were drifting onto private property.

5:09 p.m. A mama bear with her cubs appeared to be “seriously pissed off” and was hissing at people on Lupfer Avenue.

11:31 a.m. A caller was worried about a bear in his yard on Flathead Avenue.

3:39 p.m. A bear was spotted in a Woodland Place backyard.

5:25 p.m. A black bear was lounging in a tree on Second Street.
