Whitefish School District releases fall adult education offerings

Whitefish Schools will offer 10 different courses in the new Adult Education Program beginning this fall.

The first classes begin Oct. 22.

Courses are offered in the areas of computer literacy with Coding for Parents and Intro to Google Suite classes, personal growth with Cognitively-based Compassion Training and Conversational Italian, professional development with First Aid and Heart Saver CPR, recreation and leisure with Fly Fishing 101, and Intro to Pickleball, and sustainability with a class on making elderberry syrup.

“It’s exciting to launch the start of this community-based program,” said David Donaldson, coordinator for the Whitefish School District’s Adult Education Program. “More courses will be coming online all the time, as well as the opening of the Innovation Lab.”

The unique Innovation Lab that is scheduled to open later this year will be housed in Whitefish High School and allow community members access to a large variety of software and tutorials to enable self-learning. Community members can use the lab to learn and experiment in a digital workspace with a variety of hardware and software tools.

Some courses are free, while others have a nominal fee.
