New board members

John Hartlieb and Neil Huether were elected to three year terms on the Whitefish Lake Golf Association Board of Directors at last week’s annual meeting. Both bring background experiences that will be beneficial to the board. The newly elected board members will officially take their seats on the board at the next regular board meeting on October 25. Outgoing board members Dennis McConnell and Don Hanson will remain in their leadership role until the end of the year.

World’s Hardest Tournament

This year’s version of the World’s Hardest Tournament was played on the South Course last Saturday following the Annual Business Meeting of the WLGA Corporation. A combination of very severe hole locations and totally different hole layouts make the event entertaining and extremely challenging. With the hole locations in spots on the greens where a ball will not stay makes putting extreme to say the least with six and seven putts not uncommon.

Course closure schedule

The Woods or front nine of the North Course is closed for the season with the back or Lake Nine remaining open for play until Oct. 22. The South Course will remain open until the end of October, weather permitting. With this week looking good for weather we expect the remaining 27 holes to be very active with players, so get out and enjoy the last days of great golf for the season.
