Scratching noises turn out to be furnace

Monday, Oct. 1

6 a.m. A caller on Colorado Avenue was afraid to investigate the scratching noises coming from her garage. It was a her furnace.

7:50 p.m. Someone had been breaking into storage units on Flathead Avenue.

Tuesday, Oct. 2

12:27 a.m. A man was standing outside a Colorado Avenue apartment and harassing a tenant.

Wednesday, Oct. 3

11:20 a.m. A Whitefish resident noticed three of her checks had been fraudulently deposited at a local bank.

5:32 p.m. A bear and its cubs were getting a lot of attention from Houston Drive residents.

5:48 p.m. A second-story hot tub was overflowing downtown.

Thursday, Oct. 4

9:30 a.m. A Baker Avenue business owner watched a black bear and her two cubs pass through the area.

11:22 a.m. A Parkway Drive caller spotted bears up in a tree.

6:38 p.m. A bear was spotted climbing a tree on Sixth Street.

Friday, Oct. 5

7:43 a.m. Someone broke into a car belonging to the caller’s daughter and stole items on Spokane Avenue.

11:37 a.m. A caller’s eBay account was hacked and used to purchase and ship a drone to Florida.

7:21 p.m. A man on JP Road was opening everyone’s mailboxes.

8:41 p.m. Someone threw eggs at the caller on Columbia Avenue.

11:25 p.m. A man was laying in the middle of Baker Avenue.

Saturday, Oct. 6

1:53 a.m. A woman was cited for urinating in public on Central Avenue.

10:05 a.m. A caller was worried about a dog in a parked vehicle. Officers noted the outside temperature was 42 degrees and all other dogs in cars in that parking lot were comfortable.

2:41 p.m. A juvenile stole items off a table at a Central Avenue store.

7:39 p.m. A Scott Avenue caller worried the bear they’d been seeing frequently was getting too comfortable in the area.

9:48 p.m. A sow and her cubs were “terrorizing” a garbage can on Crestwood Court.

Sunday, Oct. 7

10:37 a.m. A Scott Avenue caller was concerned with the bear in her neighborhood, saying it was becoming “a real problem.”

9:29 p.m. A lost dog was hanging out in front of a Central Avenue bar.
