Snow lot

A presentation of the three design options for the proposed affordable housing project for the city of Whitefish’s snow lot is Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. at City Hall. The city’s design consultant, Homeword, will present the options for the snow lot for consideration by the neighborhood and community at-large. For more information, contact the city at

Symphony

Glacier Symphony presents “Nosferatu – A Symphony of Horrors: on Oct. 27 and Oct. 28. This 1922 silent movie based on Bram Stoker’s Dracula offers an original score for orchestra with piano improvisations by guest artist and composer, Rick Friend. Wear a costume for the costume contest. Concerts at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27 at Whitefish Performing Arts Center and Sunday, Oct. 28, 3 p.m. at Flathead High Performance Hall in Kalispell.

Toastmasters

North Valley Toastmasters is having a Halloween open house on Oct. 24 from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. at the Chiropractor, 124 N. Central Ave., Whitefish (upstairs from the Toggery).

Youth photography

The free Nature in Focus program is Saturday, Oct. 20 and offers local teens ages 10-18 the opportunity to learn the basics of photography from local professionals. For the workshop, participants will explore Haskill Basin to capture shots of the changing fall colors and portraits of their friends and family. Cameras are available upon request.
