FVCC Festival of Flavors opens
The 11th Annual Fall Festival of Flavors opens Oct. 5 at Flathead Valley Community College to support scholarships and student success.
Festival of Flavors runs Oct. 5-13 and features exquisite food, wine and beer pairings showcasing the talents of local and regional chefs, as well as students from the Culinary Institute of Montana and the Brewing Academy of Montana. The festival is sponsored by Fun Beverage and local businesses and individuals.
“Scholarships make college possible for so many of our students,” FVCC Foundation Executive Director Colleen Unterreiner said. “The generosity of this community continues to help students reach their educational goals.”
Students who receive scholarships complete their education at higher rates and in shorter timeframes, according to Unterreiner. Scholarship recipients will attend many of the festival events, providing community members the opportunity to learn more about the impact scholarships have on student success.
“The fact that someone out there thinks that I deserve a scholarship makes me want to work even harder,” 2018 Transformation Scholarship recipient Curt Zygmond said.
