Another week, another Bulldogs win, this time in a 43-7 beatdown on Ronan last Friday.

Jack Eisenbarth had a big day on the field in the Northwest A conference matchup, rushing for 177 yards and three touchdowns on just 15 carries, the second game in a row he surpassed the 100-yard mark.

As a team, Whitefish rushed for 312 yards.

Eisenbarth scored on runs on 3 and 7 yards in the first half to put the Dogs up 14-0. He also scored on a 63-yard run in the second half.

Josh Dudley got the scoring going in the second half with an 80-yard touchdown run. Devin Beale and backup quarterback Chad Queen added touchdown runs of their own in the second half.

The Whitefish defense also scored on a safety after a wayward snap went over the Ronan punter’s head and into the endzone.

Quarterback Mark Anderson also had a solid day in the air, going 9 for 17 passing for 156 yards.

Head coach Chad Ross said the solid day running the ball came from disciplined blocking by his offense.

“The offensive line just did really good job of getting to the next level and blocking the linebackers and the secondary. We just blocked really well against Ronan,” he said.

On the defensive side, Ross said he was happy to see his team keep Ronan out of the endzone until the reserves came into the game late in the fourth.

“Defensively we had one of the best games we played. Logan Drown at linebacker had his best game ever — nine tackles, two tackles for loss and two sacks,” Ross said. “We’re getting better, but we need to be more disciplined on the little things even when we’re winning.”

This week Whitefish will head down to Polson, looking to spoil the Pirates’ homecoming week. The Bulldogs are 3-0 in homecoming night battles so far this season.

“They are where we were last year, they’ve got guys sidelined with injuries and they’re starting a lot of young guys,” Ross said of Polson. “If we’re disciplined, I think we’ll have a good shot.”
