Christmas Bazaar
St. Peter Lutheran Church is holding a Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lots of Christmas items, crafts and food will be available. Funds raised are donated to world relief. The church is located at 201 Wisconsin Ave.
Crown Choir
The Crown of the Continent Choir will hold its Winter Concert on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 4 p.m. at the Samaritan House at 1199 Second Street W. in Kalispell. Admission is free, but donations will be taken for the Samaritan House.
Author speaks
Susan Purvis, author of “Go Find – My Journey to Find the Lost and Myself”, will Staying Alive in Avalanche Country on Monday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Whitefish Community Library.
Purvis is a Lead Instructor with Wilderness Medical Associates and the American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education. She is a professional member of the American Avalanche Association, the Explorers Club and a Wilderness Medical Society member. Her 45-minute talk will be followed by a questions and answer session and book signing of her book “Go Find.” Seating is limited.
Christmas reading
A reading of A Christmas Offertory by the Rev. Canon Bradley S. Wirth is Thursday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. at All Saints’ Episcopal Church at 2048 Conn Road in Columbia Falls. A Christmas Offertory is Fr. Bradley’s original work which centers around a homeless man left with no hope, and a handful of animals who are drawn together in a most unlikely way on Christmas Eve.
There is no charge for admission, but in keeping with the theme of the evening’s reading, people are welcome to give an offering which will benefit RezQ Dogs, a nonprofit organization located in Dodson in north central Montana. They are dedicated to finding homes for abandoned and unwanted dogs from the Rocky Boy and Fort Belknap Indian reservations.

FVCC play
Flathead Valley Community College’s Theatre Department’s final play of 2018 is Tony Award-winning playwright Mary Zimmerman’s “The Secret in the Wings.” Performances are scheduled Dec. 6-8 and 13-15 at 7 p.m. in the campus theatre.
In “The Secret in the Wings,” Zimmerman has adapted a group of morbid fairytales to create the dark story of a terrified young girl left in the care of her creepy next-door neighbor when her parents venture out for the evening. As the babysitter reads to the girl from a book, the characters in each fairytale materialize, each tale breaking off at its most horrifying moment. Not a bedtime story, “The Secret in the Wings” is recommended for mature audiences only.
Tickets for the play are $10 for general admission, $7 for seniors and $5 for students and can be purchased online at www.fvcc.edu, in the FVCC Bookstore or at the door any night of the show.
