Arthur John Peterson

Howdy! Arthur John Peterson, family man, artist, outdoorsman, and proud Montanan, passed away of natural causes surrounded by family at age 93 on Oct. 31, 2018, in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin.

Survived by his wife of 72 years, Jessie Evelyn (nee Schoonover) Peterson, and his three daughters: Karen (Reggie) Hall, Sue Ann Peterson, and Tricia Peterson. He will be missed by his three grandchildren: Aaron (Caitlin) Hall, Andrew (Audra) Hall, and Abby (Zack) Wyatt. They have blessed the family with eight (and counting) great-grandchildren. Blake (Paula) Peterson is the surviving nephew and son of Art’s sole brother, William Peterson, who preceded Arthur in death. He is also preceded in death by son, Randall J. Peterson (surviving spouse Lynn Haw).

Art was born in Great Falls, Montana, in 1925. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942 and served in the Atlantic Theater in WWII. He returned to Montana upon discharge and began working at a local car dealership. That job led to a 40-year career with American Motors. Upon retirement in 1986, Art and Evelyn returned to the mountains of Montana, where their ashes will eventually be buried.
