Backpack Assistance Program

| May 15, 2018 5:52 PM

Don “K” and Subaru recently presented a check in the amount of $9,834.78 to the local chapter of the Backpack Assistance Program as a result of their being chosen by the employees at the dealership to become the 2017 hometown charity beneficiary of the recently completed Subaru Share the Love event.

The Backpack program is headed up by Traci Stolte and a dedicated group of volunteers.

Subaru Share the Love is an annual giving program. The donations come from a portion of the sale price of every new Subaru sold or leased during the Nov. 20, 2017 through Jan 2. 2018 of the campaign. Buyers had a choice of charity: The ASPCA, Make-a-Wish, Meals on Wheels Association of America, the National Park Foundation, or the local hometown charity, the Backpack Assistance Program.

In addition to the national campaign, Don “K” Subaru added $50 per Subaru sold or leased to the total contributed by Subaru.

Don Kaltschmidt, owner and dealer of Don K Subaru said the locally-involved branding is more than just words.

“Thanks to the incredible loyalty and support of our customers we are able to live it more fully and in this case, to help feed young people at risk right here at home,” he said. “Subaru’s Share the Love campaign and our thousands of loyal Subaru customers provide us with a unique opportunity to do just that.”

Don “K” Subaru is one of the brands of exceptional vehicles sold at Don “K” Whitefish whose 28 years as a dealership in Northwest Montana has consistently been named best dealership and best customer service awards in the Flathead.
