Foundation announces winter grants
The Whitefish Community Foundation recently announced 16 nonprofits as receiving a grant award from its winter Community Grand Program cycle.
Since the Foundation was established in 2000, the Whitefish Community Foundation has awarded over $1.6 million from the Community Grants Program to local nonprofits. The program was recently revised to be administered on a quarterly basis to allow more opportunity for nonprofits to apply for funding.
The quarterly cycle also allows it to work in conjunction with the Great Fish Community Challenge, another annual grant program of Whitefish Community Foundation.
The nonprofits that received grants, include: Big Mountain Firefighters Association, Casting for Recovery, city of Whitefish, Family Forestry Expo, Flathead Nordic Backcountry Patrol, Gateway to Glacier Trail, Girls on the Run - Flathead Valley, Hockaday Museum of Art, Human Therapy On Horseback, Montana Conservation Corps, North Valley Food Bank, Northwest Montana Forest Fire Lookout Association, The Vital Ground Foundation, Whitefish Freestyle, Whitefish Performing Arts Center and Whitefish Winter Carnival.
Funding for the Community Grant Program comes from the Circle of Giving and unrestricted gifts to the foundation. Whitefish Community Foundation’s Community Grants spring cycle is open for applications and will close on June 28.
