Health/medical club places 13 students at state event

Whitefish High School’s health/medical science club, HOSA, recently participated at the state leadership conference to great success.
Twenty-one of the club’s 35 members traveled to state and 13 placed in their events during the HOSA State Leadership Conference recently in Helena. More than 400 students from 21 schools participated in the conference.
HOSA is an international student organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Education Division of ACTE. Its mission is to promote career opportunities in the healthcare industry and enhance the delivery of quality health care.
“The students are dedicated to learning about health science and developing skills in healthcare related careers,” said Whitefish HOSA advisor Tait Rocksund.
The HOSA club’s activities in addition to participating in the state leadership conference have also included, a school blood drive, healthy snacks for semester testing, hosting a staff appreciation breakfast, teaching health science lessons at Muldown for fourth-grade classrooms.
