Abstracts taken for first Montana Lakes Conference

The Whitefish Lake Institute is hosting the inaugural Montana Lakes Conference March 13-15, 2019.

The Montana Lakes Conference will gather diverse resource professionals to exchange information, scientific advancements, and management strategies that promote clean and healthy lake and reservoir ecosystems.

The call for abstracts for the conference is now open and runs through Sept. 11. Registration for the conference begins Sept. 1 and runs through Feb. 19, 2019.

Participants from academic, nonprofit, government, business organizations, and the public will gather to learn about improving the health of Montana’s lakes through science and monitoring advances, watershed restoration practices, policy innovation and collaborative stakeholder involvement.

The conference will be held at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake in northwestern Montana.

Developed to exchange knowledge, ideas and experiences, and to introduce new approaches to help manage and protect lakes, the conference will celebrate Montana’s lakes and the people who work to understand and protect them. Attendees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in innovative, practical, and applied lake management techniques and current research.

Networking opportunities will allow attendees with varied experiences to compare notes and collaborate on important lake management issues.
