Bulldog entry forms available

The Father’s Day morning and afternoon sessions of the Dowaliby Bulldog Open are beginning to fill quickly so get your four-person scramble team registered as soon as possible. Once again prizes will be awarded for all the variety of flights and a luncheon will be included in the entry fee as will the evening barbecue. All of the money raised in this spectacular event is used to support the Junior Golf Program, high school golf and payout prizes for the participants

90-degree rule

When driving a golf cart at Whitefish Lake Golf Club we ask that you follow the 90-degree rule by driving to your ball and then return to the cart path after you hit your shot. The more we can keep the carts on the paths the better condition the course remains and it is pristine currently. Also please keep all four tires on the path when parking to go to the green or tee. There is no need to pull off the path at that point. Please watch for signs and avoid areas marked for no cart use.

Read the sand

When you enter a bunker and set your feet into the sand, you can get an idea of how firm or soft the sand is playing. If the sand is firm, wet, or shallow you can hit closer to the ball and expect it to come out with spin to help it stop. In soft sand you will need to take more sand, expecting it to roll out further. Always open the face of the club a bit to put some bounce on your wedge no matter the texture of the sand in the bunker. Focus on the spot in the sand you wish to hit, not the ball, and do not look up until the ball is well on its way to the hole.

Junior Golf Program

Registrations are being taken for the Whitefish Lake Golf Club’s Junior Golf Program. This program is entirely free to all junior golfers and they do not have to be members to participate. Sessions for various age groups start so call the Golf Shop at 862-5960 to register.
