The Glacier Twins will present their concert series this Friday at Memorial Field.

The concert will open with a performance by John Dunnigan, followed headliner the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

The concert is this year’s primary fundraiser for the Twins. In past years the team has raised money through the Cat-Dog Smoker, but Glacier Twins board member Bob Lockman said the event has failed to raise sufficient funds in recent years.

Lockman said Memorial Field will be converted to house the stage out in center field, with VIP seating areas in left field and main seating everywhere else.

“It’s all festival seating. People can bring their own blanket and lawn chair,” he said.

Concessions and port-a-potties will be available near the main entrance to the stadium.

Lockman said gates open at 5 p.m., with Dunnigan performing from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and the main act beginning at 9 p.m.

Following the concert, there will be a corn hole tournament running starting at 11 p.m.

“I envision 20 to 30 teams, and there will be prize money as well,” Lockman said.

Tickets for the concert are $30 at the gate or $25 in advance. Tickets can be purchased online at www.glaciertwinsbaseball.org.

Lockman said one of the Twins buses will also provide free shuttle services from downtown Whitefish to Memorial Field.

While the Twins will be away during the concert, it will be for good reason. The team is competing in the state tournament in Miles City over the weekend.

However, the concert should be an enjoyable way to celebrate the team and have a good night.

“It should be a fun event,” he said.
