Alpine Theatre Project's summer season continues with variety of shows

The Alpine Theatre Project’s 2018 Broadway Summer Season shows continue through the end of the month with “Smokey Joe’s Cafe,” “Fully Committed,” and “Matilda the Musical.” Whether it’s a nostalgic trip back to the ‘50s and ‘60s, a side-splitting comedic tour-de-force, or the Tony Award winning musical, there’s something to inspire all tastes.

Smokey Joe’s Cafe

They wrote for Elvis and Dion, The Coasters and The Drifters. They wrote “Jailhouse Rock,” “Hound Dog,” “Stand By Me,” and “On Broadway.”

Leiber and Stoller, as much as anyone, virtually invented rock ‘n’ roll, and now their songs provide the basis for an electrifying entertainment that illuminates a golden age of American culture. This roof-raising musical revue features nearly 40 of the greatest songs of the ‘50s and ‘60s ever recorded.

Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical

One actor, 40 characters. This devastatingly funny one act follows a day in the life of Sam Peliczowski, an out-of-work actor who mans the red-hot reservation line at Manhattan’s No. 1 restaurant. Coercion, threats, bribes, histrionics — a cast of desperate callers will stop at nothing in their zeal to land a prime reservation, or the right table. While juggling scheming socialites, name-dropping wannabes, fickle celebrities and egomaniacal bosses, can he manage to look out for himself? Contains strong language.

Shifting Gears: ATP Distilled

New this year, ATP is proud to partner with Glacier Distilling Company to present an exclusive cabaret performances at ATP’s headquarters — The Garage. Patrons will enjoy show-stopping performances by summer Broadway artists featuring material hand-picked by the artists, themselves. Only 60 tickets are sold for the event. Patrons can purchase single tickets to this event, or enjoy complimentary table service when sponsoring a table of four or six.

Broadway Summer Training Camp: Singin in the Rain Jr

July 27- 29

The “Greatest Movie Musical of All Time” is faithfully and lovingly adapted by Broadway legends Betty Comden and Adolph Green, from their original award-winning screenplay in “Singin’ in the Rain Jr.” Hilarious situations, snappy dialogue and a hit-parade score of Hollywood standards make “Singin’ in the Rain Jr.” a guaranteed good time. Performed by the students in ATP’s Summer Broadway Training Camp.
