Many classes with a variety of art forms are part of the calendar in July for Stumptown Art Studio.

Glass Fusing: “Design with Decals” (Adult art workshop)

Wednesday, July 11, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Get hands-on experience applying assorted decals to fusible glass to create an elegant set of three coasters. Fee $70 or $65 members.

Family Night Out Painting Party

Friday, July 13, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

“Luau” is the theme for this fun evening of flip flops, tiki mugs and more tropical beachy stuff. Beach clothes are encouraged for all ages with parents. Price is cost of bisque and $5 event fee.

Precious Metal Clay 101

Thursday, July 19, 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Guest artist Malinda Goldhirsch introduces students to tools, techniques and design possibilities of this amazing material to create jewelry. $85 or $80 members includes all supplies.

Canvas and Cookies (Youth art evening)

Friday, July 20, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

A fun-filled evening of art-making and snacks just for young artists ages 7-12. “Design Your Own Emoji” is the theme featured in this guided class. Fee $25 or $20 members.

Japanese Paper Marbeling with Jennifer Li

Saturday, July 21, 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Guest artist/instructor Jennifer Li leads a class in “Suminagashi”, floating ink, which is the process of marbeling paper with water and paper to transform it into vibrant works of art. Paint a still life while learning about the best materials and gear for outdoor plein air painting. Fee $60 or $55 members.

Clay Projects with Loretta Merriman

Mondays, July 23 and July 30, 6-8 p.m.

Platters and casserole Dishes is the theme for this fun two-day workshops with guest instructor Loretta Merriman. Students will learn the ancient techniques of coil and slab building, then glazing to create their functional pieces. Fee $80 or $75 members

Wild Women Wednesday (Adult art evening)

Wednesday, July 25, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Join this fun, facilitated evening of art-making just for the ladies. Bring your own refreshments.

Monotype Workshop with Joan Black and Dennis Johnson

Thursday, July 26, 6:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m.

Guest artists Joan Black and Dennis Johnson return for another fabulous workshop exploring the magical process of creating images using stencils or a variety of materials pressed into the inked plate to create texture, and or adding layers of color resulting in a unique monotype. Fee $70, $50 each additional family member and $50 each additional family member.
