Concert includes sounds of symphony outdoors

Enjoy a summer picnic and concert when the Glacier Symphony presents “Symphony Night at the Farm” on Saturday, July 7.

Held on the rolling grounds of Rebecca Farm in Kalispell the gates will open at 5:30 p.m. allowing patrons plenty of time to picnic.

Maestro John Zoltek will cue the Glacier Symphony at 7:30 p.m. with a concert of light classical and pops music. Such favorites as The Blue Danube Waltz, Light Cavalry Overture, movie scores from “Lord of the Rings,” “Dances with Wolves,” “The Cowboys,” and “West Side Story” and finales from Dvorak’s New World Symphony plus the ever-popular 1812 Overture by Tchaikovsky and more will harmonize a summer evening sunset!

Bring low backed lawn furniture and blankets, but no dogs or barbecue grills please. The event will be held rain or shine with tent shelter available in case of inclement weather. Concert-goers can make it easier by reserving a picnic table for tables of eight. Specially selected vendors will be offering ice cream, barbecue fare, gourmet foods and popcorn. Wine, beer, sodas and water will also be available for purchase.

Entry is by the car at $30 in advance and $40 day of concert. Purchase car passes in advance at www.gscmusic.tix.com or the GS Box Office, 406-407-7000. Patrons are also invited to take advantage of the new west side bike path system in Kalispell and bike in for $5 per entry. Rebecca Farm is located in the heart of Flathead Valley at 1010 West Spring Creek Road. Take Highway 93 north from Kalispell, turn west onto Reserve continue through the roundabout and turn left on Spring Creek Road. Follow signs to gate.
