Boys swim to first at home

The Whitefish boys swim team defended their home pool with a first place finish in the Dog-Cat Invite on Saturday at The Wave.

The boys finished first overall, ahead of Glacier and Flathead, while the girls finished in fifth place.

Whitefish’s Helena Kunz and Preston Ring both tallied two first place finishes apiece, with Kunz winning the 200 IM (2:33.61) and 50 freestyle (27.72) and Ring winning the 50 freestyle (23.07) and 100 freestyle (51.50).

Also taking first for the Bulldogs was Lauren York in the 100 freestyle (1:04.45), Annie Sullivan in the 500 freestyle (5:44.87), the girls 200 freestyle relay (1.59.69) and the boys 200 medley relay (1:50.36).

This week the team heads down to the Missoula Invite. The meet starts at noon on Saturday.
