A new proposal to expand the Deer Creek neighborhood off JP Road will go before the Whitefish Planning Board this month.

A preliminary plat was submitted Nov. 20 for 48 new buildings and 137 housing units on 13.27 acres. The area already has 29 residential units in five buildings built in 2007.

The proposal was submitted by Mark Panissidi of Deer Creek Montana LLC.

The subdivision would feature two- and one-story town home units, with maximum sizes of 6,055 square feet and a minimum of 2,000 square feet.

With the additions, the neighborhood would have a total of 166 units in 53 buildings.

An existing clubhouse and hot tub are on the property, and the subdivision would feature 5.55 acres of open space.

The area would use existing water and sewer services on site.

The planning board will review the proposal Jan. 18 at City Hall.
