Host of Bulldog athletes earn academic honors

They’re not just great athletes, but they’re solid students in the classroom too — dozens of Whitefish athletes earned Academic All-State honors from the Montana Coaches Association for the fall 2017 quarter.

Student-athletes must keep a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and earn a varsity letter to earn the honor.

In volleyball, Annisa Brown, Serena Hemmingson, Cailyn Ross, Kennedy Grove, Mary Akey, Eden Scrafford, Mikenna Ells and Jasmine Matern earned All-State honors.

The golf team saw Cameron Kahle, Andrew Brozek, Brendan Buls, Grant Kahle, Ryan Kemm, Jayce Cripe, Alex Stein, Erik Miller, Ella Shaw, Megan Archibald, Kendall Reed, Annie Nixon, Emily Buckmaster, Maddie Sramek and Anna Elm earn Academic All-State.

Jacob Bailey, Tyler Dunagan, Bridger Gaertner, Ella Greenberg, Jade Greenberg, Hunter Grimes, Jessica Henson, Braya Hobson, Eric Holdhusen, Josiah Holien, Galen Jamison, Annie Robertson, Chris Sheehan, Joesphine Vardell, Miles Vrentas, Lauren Macdonald and Ella Van Vlack earned the award for cross country.

In boys soccer, the honor went to Colter Upton, Ian Lacey, Ammann Koch-Ford, Eli Joos, Casey Schneider, Noah Romagnuolo, Quinten Joos, Cedar Mattole, Tait Workman, Josh Gunderson, Ian Grover, Joseph Houston, Xander Burger, Brendon Mendoza, Sam Menicke and Bradlee Anderson. For the girls, Grace Benkelman, Mary Peterson, Taylor Gentry, Olivia Potthoff, Lexie Carbo, Abigail Shaffer, Ali Hirsch, Kellie Brown, Anna Cook, Grace Scrafford, Pixie Moore, Emma Binstein, Thea Vrentas, Abby Lowry and Sami Galbraith received the honor.

For cheerleaders, Academic All-State honors went to Camdyn Hitchcock, Cheyenne James, Jordan Hayes, Ayla Burnham, Blaine Thew, Alexys Anderson, Kathryn Yorba and Sofia Beers.

In football, Douglas Mercer, Jack Schwaiger, Carver Gilman, Forrest Kobelt, Aiden Reid, Ian Calaway, Aalec Pace, Dillon Muth, Zach Cote, Logan Drown, Brendan Cahill, Keegan Wold, Max Grimes and Dillon Botner earned Academic All-State honors.
