The valley-wide 14U Glacier Avalanche Bantam Black hockey team won the Cranbrook Hornets Bantam A Tournament last weekend in Cranbrook, B.C.

The team swept the tournament winning all five games. They defeated Bow River in the final with a score of 5-1. Other teams played included Lethbridge, Creston, Southwest Cougars (Calgary), and Cranbrook. The team is currently undefeated with 34 wins, 0 losses and 1 tie.

Head Coach Maxl Smith had the opportunity to coach the championship game in the Western Financial Place Arena where his father, professional coach Barry Smith coached the Kamloops Blazers years before.

Before heading to State in Bozeman and the League Championship Tournament in B.C., the team will play its final league games of the season versus Havre at the Stumptown Ice Den in Whitefish on Saturday at 11:45 a.m. and Sunday at 7 a.m.
