Voisin competes in slopestyle Friday

| February 13, 2018 12:26 PM

Whitefish skier Maggie Voisin is in South Korea this week competing in the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.

Voisin will compete in slopestyle, which tests a skier’s ability to handle a variety of terrain by executing freestyle maneuvers down a course, on Friday.

Voisin was born and raised in Whitefish, and started skiing when she was 3. She and her twin brother Tucker share the love of skiing with her parents Kristen and M. Truby, and siblings Michael and Kelsey.

Voisin has just come off a gold medal win at the 2018 XGames in Aspen — the first American woman to ever win XGames gold.

This is Voisin’s second trip to the Olympics. She qualified for the Sochi Games in 2014, but broke her ankle during a training run and was unable to compete.

Viewers can watch her compete live in the Olympics on NBC-TV, Friday, Feb. 16 for the qualifying rounds from 6-7:40 p.m. and the finals will air 9-10:35 p.m.
