Glacier Glide moves to Dog Creek

The Glacier Nordic Club will host its annual Glacier Glide race on Sunday, Jan. 6 at Dog Creek Lodge and Nordic Center in Olney.

The race has been moved from the Whitefish Lake Golf Course this year to Dog Creek where there is a bigger snow base for setting classic tracks, according to the club. The race will have a pursuit format which includes both classic and skate races for a combined time. Racers can also choose to race in either skate or classic.

The short pursuit will be a 3K classic and 3K freestyle race and the longer race will include a 10K classic and a 15K freestyle race. There will also be a 1K and cookie race for kids.

Races start at 9 a.m. with day of registration beginning at 8 a.m. Races are $20 for adults and $10 for youth ahead of the race and increase $5 day of. The 1K and cookie race are free.
