Bob foundation looking for new director

The Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation recently announced that Carol Treadwell, executive director, is leaving the job after a seven-year tenure that the foundation’s chairwoman described in glowing terms.

The wilderness foundation, based at the Hungry Horse Ranger District of the Flathead National Forest, describes its mission as helping to provide stewardship for and access to the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex in Northwest Montana — a complex that includes the Bob Marshall, the Great Bear and Scapegoat federal wilderness areas.

In a news release, Sara Boilen, chairwoman of the foundation’s board of directors, said Treadwell brought to the job of executive director a deep passion for the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex.

“She has been a committed and tireless wilderness advocate and has been at the helm as our organization has experienced tremendous growth,” Boilen said.

“During Carol’s tenure, the foundation’s revenue has more than doubled, invested assets have increased by 500 percent and the Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation Endowment Fund has grown significantly,” she said.

Boilen said the foundation will conduct a nationwide search “to locate the best leader for the next great chapter of the BMWF.”
