Ring, Qunell shine in Missoula

The Whitefish swim team held its own against Class AA competition at the Missoula Swim Meet last weekend.

Whitefish finished fourth in the girls standings and eighth in the boys.

Preston Ring was the top Bulldog, winning the 200-yard IM (2:01.17) and the 100 freestyle (48.22).

On the girls side, Ada Qunell took second in the 100 butterfly (1:01.61) and 500 freestyle (5:25.27).

The team also had a trio of fifth-place finishes, including Lauren York in the 100 breaststroke (1:19.23), Helena Kunz in the 100 butterfly (1:06.67) and Annie Sullivan in the 500 freestyle (5:46.39).

The team will return to the pool at the Kalispell Invite on Jan. 5.
