Lady Dog golfers take top honors at home
The Whitefish girls golf team got the win at home during last week’s Whitefish Invitational at Whitefish Lake Golf Club.
Whitefish edged out Polson and Corvallis for the title with a combined score of 407.
Ella Shaw (97) and Megan Archibald (98) finished third and fourth overall among individuals, behind Macee Greenwood of Corvallis (80) and Sammee Bardeen of Libby (95).
Kendall Reed (103) also took 10th overall, and Anya Cripe (109) finished 18th.
On the boys side, Cameron Kahle finished second overall in individual scoring while the team took fourth.
Kahle’s 76 tied Zach Taylor of Hamilton and Trey Kelley of Polson, while Libby’s Ryggs Johnston handily took first with a 64.
Jayce Crip (87) finished 20th, Ryan Kemm (89) 24th and Grant Kahle (93) 26th for Whitefish.
Hamilton, Polson and Stevensville edged out Whitefish for the top three places.
Whitefish headed down to the Corvallis Invite at the University of Missoula Golf Course yesterday after presstime. Tomorrow they’ll head to the Ronan Invite, which begins at 10 a.m.
