Montana State Mid-Am Tournament

This week starting on Thursday, and finishing on Saturday, Whitefish Lake Golf Club will host the Montana State Men’s Mid-Am tournament on the South Course. As a result of the tournament the South Course will be closed for play to non-tournament players. Whitefish Lake Golf Club like other premier courses around the state is part of the tournament rotation schedule for hosting various amateur events.

Member/Guest Tournament

On Aug. 25 and 26 Whitefish Lake Golf Club will host their annual Member/Guest two-day tournament in a prestigious event where a member and non-member guest compete. The first day is a two-person net best ball format with day two having a modified Stapleford scoring system based on the player’s handicaps. All players are required to have a current equitable handicap to participate in the event. A special culmination activity on the deck will feature live music by Karla West and her band.

Make those 3-foot putts

More players miss short puts because they tend to decelerate on the swing forward. If you go back too far you will automatically think you need to decelerate to avoid hitting the putt too hard. Anytime you do not accelerate through the ball the club will turn one way or another therefore knocking the putt off line. Pick a line, make a short back stroke and accelerate through the ball.
