Dogs don't belong at Farmers Market

| August 7, 2018 2:52 PM

I love my dog. She is well behaved, soft, cuddly and kids adore her. Would I EVER bring her to any Farmers Market? No. Why would I subject her to the chaos that would be at her level? This is asking for trouble and causes stress for the dogs and children. I know that two children have been bitten by “perfect” dogs at our Whitefish Farmers Market this summer. One child needed to undergo the rabies shot sequence due to the inability to locate the dog and owner. The county sanitarian has asked numerous times to ban dogs at the Farmers Market. What more needs to happen to finally bring on the ban on man’s best friend? If City Council can’t take care of this or the volunteers that organize the event haven’t the ability to see the writing on the wall ... perhaps the brilliant owners do. Please do the right thing and leave your pup at home in the cool shade of their own yard.
