Trail dedication

Whitefish Legacy Partners invites the public to celebrate completion of the newest section of the Whitefish Trail that connects the city of Whitefish to Whitefish Mountain Resort. There will be free barbecue, a brief dedication, and optional guided hikes to explore the new trailhead and trail. The new Valley Overlook, 1.5 miles from the trailhead, offers panoramic views of the Flathead Valley. Go for a hike or explore the new ADA interpretive trail complete with benches, picnic tables, historical displays, and educational signage. Join WLP, the City of Whitefish, community members, and project partners to celebrate this new recreation amenity just seconds from town. Parking is limited, so carpooling or bicycling is recommended.

Directions to the trailhead: Leave Whitefish traveling north on Wisconsin Avenue and turn right onto Reservoir Road (at Last Chair Kitchen and Bar). The trailhead is approximately half a mile up Reservoir Road on the left, immediately adjacent to the city of Whitefish water treatment facility.

No RSVP is required. Questions can be directed to info@whitefihlegacy.org.

The Flathead Democrats will hold Democratic primary candidate forum on Saturday, April 28 at 3:30 p.m. at Columbia Falls High School. Democratic candidates running for Montana’s U.S. House race will speak at the event. Candidates include John Heenan, Grant Kier, John Meyer, Jared Pettinato and Kathleen Williams. In addition, there will be a musical petting zoo and a spaghetti dinner.
