Feast of Whitefish returns for chance to sample city's best

| April 24, 2018 2:25 PM

Want the chance to taste Whitefish’s best food and drinks?

That’s exactly the idea behind the Whitefish Chamber of Commerce’s Feast Whitefish.

The Feast returns in May with a full week of food and drink events, highlighting the very best that the Whitefish dining scene has to offer.

“We know that it’s physically impossible to savor all that the Whitefish culinary scene has to offer in just a few days time,” says Whitefish Chamber director Kevin Gartland, “but if you’re dying to try, Feast Whitefish is just the ticket.”

Events kick-off on Friday, May 11 with the third Annual Distiller’s Fest — an opening night cocktail party at Grouse Mountain Lodge featuring specialty cocktails (and spirits) from 10 different Montana micro-distilleries and an all-star line-up of appetizers from top Whitefish eateries.

During the Feast’s Restaurant week, May 14-18, it’s a five-day culinary affair with locally owned-and-operated restaurants offer incentives for patrons to revisit their favorite restaurants and experience new ones. Each night participating restaurants will offer a special, fixed-price Feast week dinner menu.

On Tuesday, May 15 it’s the Feast Grand Gala at the Last Chair Kitchen & Bar. This one-of-a-kind dining experience includes six top local chefs collaborating to present an amazing six-course dinner. Each course is paired with award-winning wines from the West Coast and beyond.

On Saturday, May 19 the focus shifts to burgers, barbecue and beer, as Cypress Yard hosts this year’s Burger Battle at their outdoor venue on Wisconsin Avenue. Local restaurants and bars will try to impress the crowd — and the judges — with their take on the ultimate burger and/or the best grilled entrée. They will compete for the fame and fortune that come with being known as the undisputed Burger-Meister — or Grill Master — of Big Sky Country.

Feast Whitefish is presented by the chamber, the Pine Lodge, the Flathead Beacon and Best Western Rocky Mountain Lodge, and supported by dozens of fine local restaurants, catering companies, bars, breweries, micro-distilleries and distributors.
