Boat decon station opens

Don “K” Subaru and the Whitefish Lake Institute have partnered in the fight against aquatic invasive species.

Early access to watercraft inspections and preventative hot washes will be available Saturday, April 28 from noon until 4 p.m. at the new AIS Prevention and Decontamination Station on the west side of Highway 93 across from Don “K” just north of JP Road.

“As a critical element of the Don “K” Subaru Loves the Earth campaign we will host the Whitefish Lake Institute decontamination station on our lot May through October of this year,” according to Don Kaltschmidt owner of Don “K” Subaru.

With watercraft launches opening on May 1, this gives local boaters a chance for early access to watercraft inspections and preventative hot washes.
