Board OKs extending superintendent contract

The Whitefish School Board on April 10 approved extending the contract for Superintendent Heather Davis Schmidt.

The contract now runs for three years through 2021.

The board stretched Davis Schmidt’s current term, which lasts from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2020, to July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2021.

Davis Schmidt’s salary will also see a slight increase to $124,218, plus the base annual percentage increase agreed upon through the collective bargaining process between the district and Whitefish Education Association.

Davis Schmidt was hired as the district superintendent in May 2015 after previously serving as an executive regional director at Missoula County Public Schools.
